The Plantronics MX150 are not adjustable and the microphone tends to swivel a little easily. Even under my hood my voice is perfectly clear and I've been told the caller can't tell that I'm using a headset. I'm a woman with normal size ears (whatever that means exactly) and perfect hearing.
In the car I feel like I'm constantly adjusting the microphone, although the caller doesn't seem to notice I feel like it moves. Unfortunately when I'm outside the ambient noise makes it very difficult to hear the caller and I often have to ask them to repeat themselves. Outdoors I've been told I can be heard exceptionally well regardless of the wind or ambient noise around me.
Although I actually like these headphones there are a couple of issues with them. While indoors I've only had one caller tell me to keep adjusting the microphone (maybe I'm not speaking loudly enough). I will buy a different style headset to travel with and keep this one to use at home.
The ear hook does fit my ear very nicely. When I'm indoors and there is no tv or radio playing I can hear the caller very clearly (though I have the volume on the high side).
Now I understand why the price was so discounted. You really do get what you pay for. I purchased this headset about two months ago. I wouldn't recommend this headset to my worst enemy. If I could have rated this zero stars, I would have. The first time I used it, it was very scratchy, both on my end and the person who I was calling. I only paid about $1.50 for it, so I didn't return it, it wasn't worth the hassle.
It's great for teenagers so they are not distracted holding a phone while driving if they need to ask directions. This headset works very well. I have purchased several to give as gifts and keep one in my purse and one at home so that I don't have to have the phone at my ear.
On the other hand, they do work. The quality on how they are made is very poor to say the least. You get what you pay for. Don't waste your $$$ on this one. but for how long. It might say 'Plantronics' in the ad but there aren't any marking of the manufacturer. I just received 2 of these things and I am very disappointed. They were in a small zip log bag when I received them.
